Apple introduced a new security feature called Gate Keeper. By default, Gate Keeper is enabled, and requires apps to either be released via the Mac App Store or be signed with Developer ID. NetExtender does not meet the requirements for the Mac App Store, so it has been updated to include Developer ID signing. Use NetExtender version 6.0.726 or higher to avoid issues with Gate Keeper.
NetExtender now comes as a single.app file that does not require the usual installation procedure. When you open mount the.DMG image, you’ll see NetExtender.app and an alias to the Applications folder. Simply drag the NetExtender icon over the alias to install. If an existing version of NetExtender is already installed, you will be prompted to stop the copy or replace the file.
Go ahead and replace the file. Installation scripts will launch when the user tries to make their first connection (or when NetExtender needs to repair itself). The user will be prompted for their credentials to make the necessary permission changes or run installation scripts, if changes are necessary.
