I have tried Elmedia Player, Wondershare Player, iFunia Player, and while they were good for their uses, they just didn’t have that functionality I enjoy in a media player. Quick Player X has a slick but simple icon and interface, and the video quality looks very HD. Pressing the left and right arrow keys will jump pass small segments in the video. Holding shift and pressing the arrow keys will jump pass large segments. And in Elmedia Player, this would temporily make the video quality blury.

In Wondershare, there was an echo in the audio quality. Quick seeking works very well in this media player. Also, I couldn’t help to notice that it has the same UI as a media player I used back when I was a Windows user, Daum Pot Player. I admit, that is why I decided to try this one out. I wonder if it is made by the same developers, because I really enjoyed that one as well.

One thing I would like to be improved is for the Playlist and Settings from those icons to have either panels or docs rather than drop-out menus. When I used Pot Player, I loved having the playlist pinned to the side, and I liked how the settings was an additional window. I am also wondering if there is a way to change the preferences so I do not need to grant access to have the player play files from a new folder, and I wonder if I can zoom. Mac OS X specific: I find that Notes works very well on OS X; Silk and NiniX are essential, but once you have used them, it’s essentially the same as on other platforms. One thing to note - maybe related to my installation only - is that when you send email and include attachments, sometimes they’ll get compressed to Mac.hqx files. My advice would be to get familiar with the Notes/Domino concepts of databases, replication, and workgroup-related features; once you have “got” that, the rest makes sense. Ibm lotus notes for mac. The reason is that Mail, Calendaring, Addresses and ToDo lists just happen to be a few of the many things that Notes can do; comparing just these to Outlook will almost always result in Outlook being the winner.
